North Coast 500, the gateway to the Northern Highlands of Scotland

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that the North Coast 500 is just a spectacular driving route to whizz round and tick it off your bucket list!.  Instead, take the time to discover and explore this stunning and unspoiled landscape and it’s hidden gems. This will give you more of a chance to really experience the local culture, taste the local produce and see more of our animals and wildlife.  Popular day trips include Gairloch, Applecross, Durness, Lochinver, Achiltibuie, Inverness and Dornoch.

The NC500 was created in 2014 by the North Highland Initiative to generate more tourism to the Highlands.

The 516 mile long route starts at Inverness Castle, heads up the north west coast to Ullapool then Durness and across the rugged coastline to John Groats and Dornoch before returning back down to Inverness.

Our Cabins are conveniently situated on the North Coast 500 route  just 3 miles south of Ullapool on the A835.
