A short steep walk takes you down to Corrieshalloch Gorge which is a mile-long canyon and waterfall. At the bottom of the trail you will reach a Victorian suspension bridge which takes you across the gorge to the viewing platform where the water surges many meters below. The woodland walk has good paths and great views out towards Loch Broom.
The suspension bridge was built by John Fowler, the pioneering engineer responsible for the world’s first underground railway and joint chief engineer on the iconic Forth Railway Bridge. Due to its extraordinary natural features, Corrieshalloch Gorge is a National Nature Reserve.
